iPad iPad iPad.

Holy cow, I have had this thing for a week now and I must say, I am loving it. I am adjusting to the keyboard and the auto correct, it almost makes these post look good. Again, I am blogging from the iPad through the wordpress app. A lot of these apps were developed before the iPad came out; therefore, I betcha in a month, some of these apps are going to be breathtaking.

Now and then there is a little hiccup, usually caused by an app freezing up for a moment of time. Or once the mail sending bar got stuck. But other than that, the ipad works great. Although the ipad is missing a few features, like an OS, USB, and a few little things, I went into buying this product knowing I was a tester, or guinea pig. I usually wait till second release of products, or at least for an update, but for only 500 bucks, I through caution to the wind.

Oh yes, one more thing you would not think to expect, is that I play guitar quite often an my right hand fingers there are calluses and now and then the iPad doesn’t register my index finger. Little annoying while typing.

iPad

Well, I bought the iPad. And yes, it was quite hyped up; however, for someone that does not own an iPhone, this is all new to me. I won’t bore you will all the things I wish it could do or glad it does, I will tell you how it is changing my lifestyle. I have gotten on my laptop twice since I purchased this (4 days ago). For heavy designing I have a iMac, so for Internet, podcast, and some apps I use daily (goodreader, numbers, and skygrid) this tablet is fantastic.

In addition to awesomeness, I am at 4% battery right now and I am writing this review from the word press app from the iPad. Attached is a picture I made in sketches pro. A little elementary, but a fun program.

Great job apple. So good, that I am tempted to return it and wait for the 3G model and buy the plan and have Internet everywhere…. I won’t, but am tempted. I’ll probably buy the third generation iPad. It will be a few years, but by then, it will be revolutionized, I’m sure.

Magic Mouse

I haven’t wrote in so long… I suppose I have been busy living my life. However, I did purchase the new magic mouse, and it is awesome. It far lives up to the standers of every touch mechanism apple comes out with. The only thing I would change is the fact it does not support expose or dashboard features. But who knows, that could be an update in the future, because the technology is most certainly there. It is so clean and smooth, to be compared to the past mighty mouse would be like comparing Oreos to double stuffed Oreos…it’s a completely different sensation.

Kinetic Typography

You heard it here folks. Kinetic Typography. What a phrase. Basically it is displaying type in a quick video way… kind of. Typography in Motion by I Love Typography explains it all. So I was hankoring for a project and put some kinetic typography to a song of mine. Cheers mate!

Parallels

Run windows on your mac? I know, it’s been done, and its out there. However, I recently just bought a MacBook pro from macmall and included with my purchase was a free copy of parallels (after rebate of course). This program is great. You’ll need a copy of windows too, but after that, I can now have a windows program running and a mac program running at the same time. I usually don’t support windows because of all the problems, but now and then, it’s nice to go back to a dos machine that only some software works on. Anyways, if you need to split the platform, get parallels, you can do it without rebooting or partitioning your hard drive. Cheers.
